What the ROI Calculator does

ROI Calculator: calculates Net Gain / Loss, ROI % and Money Multiple from Amount Invested and Amount Returned. Example: amount invested 100000 ₹ and amount returned 150000 ₹ gives net gain / loss ₹50,000.00.

This calculator reads Amount Invested and Amount Returned and produces Net Gain / Loss, ROI % and Money Multiple. There is no submit step; the numbers move as you adjust them.

It is mostly used by people planning a budget. Lenders present the same deal in different ways, so a like-for-like number is worth having.

This runs client-side, which means we never receive what you enter and could not retrieve it if asked.

Each field is explained further down, along with the method and a worked example that uses the default values.

What do the ROI Calculator fields mean?

The ROI Calculator uses 2 inputs. The starting figures are ordinary, not edge cases, so they make a sensible baseline.

FieldWhat to enterDefault
Amount Invested measured in ₹; accepts 1 to 100000000 100000
Amount Returned measured in ₹; accepts 0 to 100000000 150000

How does the ROI Calculator work?

Net Gain / Loss, ROI % and Money Multiple ← f(Amount Invested, Amount Returned)

Each output is derived from the inputs above in a single pass; there is no hidden state carried between runs, so the same inputs always give the same calculation.

Validation runs before the calculation, which is why a mistyped value shows an error rather than a plausible-looking result.

Worked example

These are the values the ROI Calculator loads by default, and the result it produces from them. The defaults produce the result shown here; change any of them and the answer moves.

Inputs
Amount Invested100000 ₹
Amount Returned150000 ₹
Result
Net Gain / Loss₹50,000.00
ROI %50.00%
Money Multiple1.50

How to use it

  1. Set Amount Invested in ₹ (1 to 100000000).
  2. Put Amount Returned in ₹ (0 to 100000000).
  3. Results update continuously rather than on submit.
  4. Check Net Gain / Loss, ROI % and Money Multiple on the right.
  5. If you need a record, Copy Link saves the inputs and Print produces a clean page.

What this tool does not do

  • Fees, taxes and eligibility rules vary by product and are not included unless there is a field for them.
  • Lender rounding rules differ, so the final figure on your statement may differ by a small amount.
  • No allowance is made for local rules, regional variations or house conventions.
  • The result inherits any error in the inputs without flagging it.

Frequently asked questions

Enter Amount Invested in ₹ and Amount Returned in ₹. Every input names its unit, and every output does too, which removes the usual source of error.

Amount Invested accepts 1 to 100000000 ₹. Go outside it and you get an error against that specific field instead of a misleading number.

With the values loaded when the page opens, net gain / loss comes out as ₹50,000.00. Edit any input and that figure moves with it.

No: there is no server involved. Close the tab and the values are gone.

No cost and no account. Use it as often as you like.

Accurate for the formula described. Treat the output as a well-informed estimate rather than a quote, since providers apply their own charges and rounding.
