What the TDS Calculator does
TDS Calculator: calculates Applied Rate %, TDS Amount and Net Payable from Payment Amount, TDS Rate % and PAN Available?. Example: payment amount 100000 ₹, TDS rate % 1% (e.g. 194C/194Q-ish) and PAN available? Yes gives applied rate % 1.00%.
Applied Rate %, TDS Amount and Net Payable, derived from Payment Amount, TDS Rate % and PAN Available?. You can nudge a single number and watch the effect straight away.
Most people who open the TDS Calculator are savers modelling a goal. Getting the arithmetic right before you sign is cheaper than discovering it afterwards.
There is no account, no upload and no server round trip, because the page does the work itself.
If you want to check the arithmetic, the field table, the method and a worked example are further down.
What do the TDS Calculator fields mean?
The TDS Calculator uses 3 inputs. You do not have to fill everything in before seeing an answer; the starting values already produce one.
| Field | What to enter | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Payment Amount | measured in ₹; accepts 0 to 100000000 | 100000 |
| TDS Rate % | choose from 1% (e.g. 194C/194Q-ish), 2%, 5%, 10% (interest/194A etc.), 20% or 30% | 1% (e.g. 194C/194Q-ish) |
| PAN Available? | choose from Yes or No (often 20% higher rate) | Yes |
How does the TDS Calculator work?
Each output is derived from the inputs above in a single pass; there is no hidden state carried between runs, so the same inputs always give the same calculation.
The tool refuses to guess: if a value is missing or impossible, it says so.

How to use it
- Fill in Payment Amount in ₹ (0 to 100000000).
- Pick a value for TDS Rate %: the options are 1% (e.g. 194C/194Q-ish), 2%, 5%, 10% (interest/194A etc.), 20% or 30%.
- Pick a value for PAN Available?: the options are Yes or No (often 20% higher rate).
- Watch the results panel as you type: it recalculates on every keystroke.
- The panel reports Applied Rate %, TDS Amount and Net Payable.
- Copy Link puts the current inputs in the URL, so bookmarking it brings the same numbers back.
What this tool does not do
- Fees, processing charges and taxes are not included unless there is a field for them.
- Lender rounding conventions differ, so your statement may vary by small amounts.
- There is no audit trail: if you need one, record the inputs alongside the output.
- The tool cannot tell whether a number was entered in the unit you intended, so double-check the labels.
Frequently asked questions
Enter Payment Amount in ₹. The unit is shown beside each box, and the result carries its own label, so there is nothing to convert by hand.
Payment Amount accepts 0 to 100000000 ₹. If a value falls outside, the tool says which field is at fault instead of guessing.
With the values loaded when the page opens, applied rate % comes out as 1.00%. The figure is derived from the inputs above, so it updates whenever they do.
Nothing is logged. The tool is client-side code; your data stays where you entered it.
No. There is no account, no usage cap and no trial period. The site is funded by advertising rather than by charging for the tools.
The result is reliable for the assumptions you entered, and those assumptions are the fragile part. A rate that changes mid-term will move the outcome more than any rounding here.
