Who we are

YoursTools ("we", "us") operates the website at yourstools.com and is the data controller for the limited personal data described below. For any privacy question or to exercise a right, contact us at hello@yourstools.com or through the contact page.

What we do not collect

This is the most important section, so it comes first.

The values you enter into our tools are never transmitted to us. Every calculator, converter and file utility on this site runs as JavaScript inside your browser. There is no upload step and no server-side processing. When you enter a salary, a medical measurement, a password, or select a PDF to merge, that data is processed on your device and exists only in your browser's memory until you close the tab.

This means that even if we wanted to tell you what you calculated, or were compelled to produce it, we could not. There is no record on our side because the data never arrived.

You can verify this rather than trusting it. Open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and use any tool. You will see the page load and then no further requests carrying your input. Or disconnect from the internet after the page has loaded and keep using the tool; it will continue to work, which is only possible because the computation is local.

We also do not: require an account, ask for your name or email to use a tool, sell personal data, or operate any user profiling of our own.

Local storage never leaves your device. It is not a cookie, it is not transmitted with requests, and we cannot read it from our servers.

Third parties

Three external services are involved in running this site, plus one more that runs only if you choose it.

Google AdSense

Advertising funds the site. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads. Specifically:

• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
• Google uses the DoubleClick DART cookie and similar identifiers for ad serving and frequency capping.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings.
• You can opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu.
• How Google uses data from sites that use its services is described at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Ads are placed in fixed slots on tool pages. They have no access to what you type. Those values never leave your device, so there is nothing for an ad script to read even in principle.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count page views and understand which tools people use. IP anonymisation is enabled and ad personalisation signals are disabled by default. Analytics can tell us that a calculator page was viewed. It cannot tell us what was calculated on it.

Fonts and hosting

Our typefaces are served from this domain, not from Google Fonts, so no request and no IP address reaches Google when a page loads. Our web host receives standard server log data to serve pages. We deliberately do not load our tool libraries from a CDN either: PDF, QR, barcode and cryptography libraries are all served from our own domain, so no third party sees which tool you opened.

Google Drive (optional)

Where a tool accepts a file, it may offer a "From Google Drive" button next to the usual "choose a file" box. Nothing happens unless you press it, and nothing belonging to Google is loaded onto the page until you do. If you press it, Google asks you to sign in and choose a file. We then hold a short-lived access token limited to the files you picked, and the file is downloaded from Google straight into your browser and processed there, exactly like a file chosen from your own disk.

We never see your Google password, we cannot list or open anything else in your Drive, and the token is kept in memory only until you close the tab. The file is not uploaded to us: this is a static site with no server to receive it. Google's handling of the sign-in is covered by Google's privacy policy, and you can review or withdraw this site's access at any time under your Google account permissions.

Consent and Consent Mode v2

We implement Google Consent Mode v2. In practice this means:

• Analytics and advertising storage start in a denied state before any tag loads.
• Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland are shown a consent banner and nothing non-essential is set until they choose.
• Choosing "Reject non-essential" leaves analytics and advertising cookies unset. Every tool works identically either way. Nothing is gated behind consent.
• Your choice is stored in a first-party cookie (yt_consent) for 180 days. You can change it at any time by clearing that cookie.

Your rights

If you are in the EEA or UK (GDPR / UK GDPR)

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing of, and port your personal data, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

In practice, the personal data we hold about an individual is usually limited to correspondence you have sent us. To exercise any right, email hello@yourstools.com. We respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.

If you are in California (CCPA / CPRA)

You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell personal information. Sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising occurs only through Google AdSense and only where you have consented; you can opt out via the links in the AdSense section above or by rejecting non-essential cookies. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Everyone

Regardless of location, you can clear cookies and site data in your browser, browse in private mode, use a content blocker, or reject non-essential cookies in our banner. None of these degrade the tools.

Children

This site is not directed at children under 13, or under 16 where local law sets that threshold. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served over HTTPS with HSTS. We set X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options and a referrer policy, and we vendor our JavaScript libraries locally rather than pulling them from third-party CDNs, which removes a class of supply-chain risk.

The strongest security property here is structural rather than technical: the data most people would worry about (what they typed into a calculator) is never transmitted, so it cannot be intercepted in transit or exposed in a breach of our systems. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but this particular data is not transmitted at all.

International transfers

Our hosting provider and the third parties named above may process data outside your country, including in the United States. Google relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses for such transfers. Server logs are held by our hosting provider in its own data-centre regions.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "last updated" date at the top changes when we do, and material changes will be noted on the site rather than made quietly. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
