What the EBITDA Calculator does
EBITDA Calculator: calculates EBITDA, EBIT and EBITDA Margin % from Revenue, Operating Expenses (ex D&A) and Depreciation & Amortization. Example: revenue 1000000 ₹, operating expenses (ex D&A) 600000 ₹ and depreciation & amortization 50000 ₹ gives EBITDA ₹4,00,000.00.
Point it at Revenue, Operating Expenses (ex D&A) and Depreciation & Amortization and it returns EBITDA, EBIT and EBITDA Margin %. Results refresh instantly, so trying variations costs nothing but a moment.
Seeing the total cost, not just the monthly figure, is what usually changes decisions. That is usually what brings someone checking a lender quote here.
There is no back end here. The calculation runs where you are sitting, not on a server somewhere.
The sections that follow cover the fields, the method, and one full example computed from the defaults.
What do the EBITDA Calculator fields mean?
The EBITDA Calculator uses 3 inputs. Every field is populated on load; treat those numbers as a template rather than a suggestion.
| Field | What to enter | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Revenue | measured in ₹; accepts 0 to 1000000000 | 1000000 |
| Operating Expenses (ex D&A) | measured in ₹; accepts 0 to 1000000000 | 600000 |
| Depreciation & Amortization | measured in ₹; accepts 0 to 1000000000 | 50000 |
How does the EBITDA Calculator work?
Each output is derived from the inputs above in a single pass; there is no hidden state carried between runs, so the same inputs always give the same calculation.
Nothing is computed until the inputs pass their checks, so you will not get a confident answer built on a typo.
Worked example
These are the values the EBITDA Calculator loads by default, and the result it produces from them. This walkthrough uses the starting values, which means you can follow along without typing anything.
| Revenue | 1000000 ₹ |
|---|---|
| Operating Expenses (ex D&A) | 600000 ₹ |
| Depreciation & Amortization | 50000 ₹ |
| EBITDA | ₹4,00,000.00 |
|---|---|
| EBIT | ₹3,50,000.00 |
| EBITDA Margin % | 40.00% |
How to use it
- Enter Revenue in ₹ (0 to 1000000000).
- Set Operating Expenses (ex D&A) in ₹ (0 to 1000000000).
- Put Depreciation & Amortization in ₹ (0 to 1000000000).
- Because it recalculates as you type, you can dial a value in rather than guessing and re-running.
- You get EBITDA, EBIT and EBITDA Margin % back.
- Share the link rather than a screenshot. It carries the values with it.
What this tool does not do
- Advertised rates are usually the best-case tier, not the one most applicants are offered.
- Fees, taxes and eligibility rules vary by product and are not included unless there is a field for them.
- It cannot detect a typo that happens to fall inside the valid range.
- Results are only as good as the inputs. Check your units before reading anything into the output.
Frequently asked questions
Enter Revenue in ₹, Operating Expenses (ex D&A) in ₹ and Depreciation & Amortization in ₹. Look for the unit beside each label; the result is reported in a stated unit as well.
Revenue accepts 0 to 1000000000 ₹. Out-of-range entries are refused up front, which is safer than silently clamping them.
With the values loaded when the page opens, EBITDA comes out as ₹4,00,000.00. Change a value and the number is recomputed on the spot.
It never leaves the tab. The page does the work itself rather than asking a server to.
It is free to use, with no premium tier holding back the useful parts.
The calculation is precise; the assumptions are yours. Change one input and you will see how sensitive the result is, which is usually the more useful insight.
