This counter reads Your text and produces Words and Characters. Everything recomputes live, which makes it easy to test a few scenarios in a row.
Text pasted from another program usually arrives with formatting nobody wants. The Word Counter exists to take that particular chore off your hands.

How does the Word Counter work?
Each output is derived from the inputs above in a single pass; there is no hidden state carried between runs, so the same inputs always give the same count.
An empty or malformed field stops the calculation rather than being treated as zero.

What this tool does not do
- Word and character definitions vary between tools: this one counts whitespace-separated tokens.
