What the Margin Calculator does
Margin Calculator: calculates Profit, Margin % and Markup % from Cost and Revenue / Selling Price. Example: cost 80 ₹ and revenue / selling price 100 ₹ gives profit ₹20.00.
The Margin Calculator turns Cost and Revenue / Selling Price into Profit, Margin % and Markup %. Press the button when your inputs are ready and the result appears below.
Seeing the total cost, not just the monthly figure, is what usually changes decisions. That is usually what brings someone checking a lender quote here.
Everything happens inside this page. Nothing you type is sent to a server, and there is nothing for us to store.
Everything needed to verify a result is further down: the fields, the method and one fully worked example.
What do the Margin Calculator fields mean?
The Margin Calculator uses 2 inputs. None of the boxes start empty. The page loads with a worked set of values you can edit or replace.
| Field | What to enter | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Cost | measured in ₹ | 80 |
| Revenue / Selling Price | measured in ₹ | 100 |
How does the Margin Calculator work?
Each output is derived from the inputs above in a single pass; there is no hidden state carried between runs, so the same inputs always give the same calculation.
If something is off you are told which field, not given a generic failure.

- Read Profit, Margin % and Markup % in the results panel.

What this tool does not do
- Rates are treated as fixed for the whole term; a floating rate will change the outcome.
- Fees, processing charges and taxes are not included unless there is a field for them.
- Values outside the documented ranges are rejected rather than approximated.
- A number that passes validation has been checked for plausibility, not for correctness.

Correct as computed. Treat it as the floor of what a product costs, since charges and taxes are additions rather than subtractions.
