What the Loan Calculator does
Loan Calculator: calculates EMI, Principal and Interest from Loan Amount, Interest Rate and Tenure (years). Formula: EMI = P x r x (1 + r)^n / ((1 + r)^n - 1). Example: loan amount 500000 ₹, interest rate 10 % and tenure (years) 5 gives EMI ₹10,623.52.
The Loan Calculator turns Loan Amount, Interest Rate and Tenure (years) into EMI, Principal and Interest. Everything recomputes live, which makes it easy to test a few scenarios in a row.
A quote sounds reasonable until you total the interest over the full term. The Loan Calculator exists to take that particular chore off your hands.
We never see the amounts you enter, so there is no financial record of your visit to leak.
Everything needed to verify a result is further down: the fields, the method and one fully worked example.
What do the Loan Calculator fields mean?
The Loan Calculator uses 3 inputs. It opens with a complete example loaded, which is usually the quickest way to understand what a field means.
| Field | What to enter | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Loan Amount | measured in ₹; accepts 10000 to 10000000 | 500000 |
| Interest Rate | measured in %; accepts 0.1 to 30 | 10 |
| Tenure (years) | accepts 1 to 40 | 5 |
How does the Loan Calculator work?
P is the principal, r is the monthly interest rate (annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100) and n is the number of monthly instalments.
Inputs are validated before anything is computed, so a bad entry is reported rather than quietly producing a wrong answer.

How to use it
- Key in Loan Amount in ₹ (10000 to 10000000).
- Fill in Interest Rate in % (0.1 to 30).
- Type Tenure (years) (1 to 40).
- It runs on every change, so there is no moment where the screen is out of date.
- Read EMI, Principal, Interest and Total Payable in the results panel.
- To keep the result, either copy the link or print the page. Both preserve what is on screen.
What this tool does not do
- Rates are treated as fixed for the whole term; a floating rate will change the outcome.
- Fees, processing charges and taxes are not included unless there is a field for them.
- Comparisons across tools can differ where each uses a slightly different definition.
- A number that passes validation has been checked for plausibility, not for correctness.
Frequently asked questions
Enter Loan Amount in ₹ and Interest Rate in %. Each field states its unit next to the input, and outputs are labelled the same way.
Loan Amount accepts 10000 to 10000000 ₹. The range is enforced before the calculation runs, so a bad entry never reaches the formula.
With the values loaded when the page opens, EMI comes out as ₹10,623.52. Try changing one value. The answer refreshes without a page reload.
No record is kept. We never receive what you type, so there is nothing on our side to retain.
It is free with no conditions: no sign-up, and no limit on how often you use it.
Accurate arithmetic, indicative answer. It is at its most useful when you run it two or three times to see which input the result is genuinely sensitive to.
